Wales has two main economic corridors. In the south, the M4 links Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Port Talbot and Swansea, with the Valleys to the north and Pembrokeshire’s energy ports to the west. In the north, the A55 runs from the Cheshire border at Deeside along the coast to Holyhead on Anglesey. The two are connected by long, mostly rural routes, so security planning differs between them.

The Wales commercial landscape

In South Wales, the Cardiff Capital Region is a partnership of ten councils, including Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend and the Valleys authorities. Cardiff is the main office, retail and events centre, and the M4 corridor hosts manufacturing and logistics. Further west, the Celtic Freeport covers Port Talbot and Milford Haven, focusing on floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea, hydrogen and other low-carbon industries. Construction of Tata Steel’s electric arc furnace at Port Talbot began in July 2025, supported by a £500 million UK Government grant.

In North Wales, Deeside in Flintshire is a major manufacturing area, home to Airbus’s Broughton site, which the company describes as a global centre of excellence for wing manufacturing. Wrexham has a large industrial estate near the A483. At Holyhead, the Anglesey Freeport was developed by the Isle of Anglesey County Council and Stena Line, owner of Holyhead Port.

The two Welsh Freeports, Anglesey and Celtic, were announced in March 2023 and add to the construction and industrial activity expected in both corridors.

Local security requirements

Points to consider when buying security in Wales:

  • SIA licensing applies in Wales as it does in England and Scotland. Officers carrying out licensable activities hold the relevant SIA front-line licence.
  • Some public-facing sites may expect Welsh-language signage or communication. Please raise this at the survey stage so it can be planned.
  • Rural and coastal sites may lack mains power, which favours off-grid camera systems and planned patrols.
  • UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ICO’s video surveillance guidance apply to CCTV in Wales.

How we mobilise and manage contracts here

Each Welsh contract starts with a site survey and risk discussion, followed by written assignment instructions, officer assignment and a mobilisation date agreed with you. Supervision, patrol records and incident reports are reviewed centrally, with contract reviews at agreed intervals.

We do not quote fixed response times in advance; alarm response arrangements are agreed per contract. Short-notice requests go through emergency security cover, subject to confirmation for each site.

Services in Wales

Regions in Wales

Do you have an office in Wales?

No. We do not describe local Welsh branches because we do not have any. Officers are assigned to each site, and site visits and contract reviews are planned centrally.

Do you cover both North and South Wales?

Yes. We provide services in South Wales, including Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and the Valleys, and in North Wales, including Deeside, Wrexham and the A55 corridor to Anglesey. Sites in mid Wales can be discussed case by case.

Can you secure industrial or port-side sites?

Our guarding, patrol and CCTV tower services can be configured for industrial and port-side sites, following the operator’s inductions, permits and emergency procedures. We do not claim existing contracts at named Welsh sites.

Can you provide Welsh-language signage for CCTV?

CCTV signage must tell people that recording is taking place and who is responsible. If you need bilingual signage, tell us at the survey stage and we will include it in the installation plan. The client remains responsible for its own language policy.
