Most of Wales’s population and commercial activity is concentrated in the south, from Chepstow and Newport through Cardiff and the Valleys to Swansea, Llanelli and Pembrokeshire. Security buyers include office and retail landlords in the cities, manufacturers and distributors along the M4, and operators of large industrial and energy sites on the coast.

The South Wales commercial landscape

The M4 is the region’s spine, entering Wales over the Prince of Wales Bridge and running past Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Port Talbot and Swansea before continuing to Pont Abraham, with the A48 and A40 extending west to Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire. The A470 links Cardiff with Pontypridd and Merthyr Tydfil, and the A465 Heads of the Valleys road runs across the northern edge of the Valleys.

The Cardiff Capital Region is a partnership of ten councils: Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan. Cardiff is the main office, retail and events centre, while Newport and the surrounding area host manufacturing, including semiconductor businesses, and logistics close to the M4.

In the west, the Celtic Freeport covers the ports of Port Talbot and Milford Haven, with a focus on floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea, hydrogen, sustainable fuels and carbon capture. At Port Talbot, construction of Tata Steel’s electric arc furnace started in July 2025, supported by a £500 million UK Government grant. Milford Haven is a major energy port with fuel terminals and a power station.

Local security requirements

Typical considerations in South Wales:

  • Large industrial sites with their own safety regimes, where officers must complete inductions before deployment.
  • Open coastal and port-side sites, often suited to off-grid CCTV towers and perimeter patrols.
  • Bilingual signage and communication may be expected on some public-facing sites; please tell us at the survey stage.

How we mobilise and manage contracts here

Following a site survey, we prepare assignment instructions, assign officers holding the relevant SIA front-line licence and agree a mobilisation date with you. We do not quote travel or response times in advance; alarm response arrangements are set out in the contract.

Patrol records, incident reports and supervisory checks are reviewed centrally, with contract reviews at agreed intervals. Short-notice cover is available through emergency security cover, subject to confirmation for each site.

Do you have an office in Cardiff?

No. Officers are assigned to each contract and supervised through our operations team. We do not describe a local branch because we do not have one.

Which parts of South Wales do you cover?

We provide services across South Wales, including Newport, Cardiff, the Valleys, Bridgend, Port Talbot, Swansea, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Can you provide security for a construction or decommissioning project at an industrial site?

Our construction site security service can be configured for large industrial projects, combining access-point officers, perimeter patrols and CCTV towers. We do not claim existing contracts at named sites.

Can one patrol cover several premises in the Valleys?

Often, yes. Mobile patrols in marked vehicles can visit several sites on a planned route, carrying out external and internal checks, lock-ups or alarm response. Each visit is recorded digitally and reported. Routes are reviewed as sites are added or removed.
