Security for Industrial and Manufacturing Sites
Seccuro’s guarding, patrol and CCTV services can be configured for factories, plants and industrial estates, protecting production assets, raw materials and finished goods, and keeping sites secure through nights, weekends and shutdowns.

Industrial and manufacturing security protects production sites, plant, raw materials, finished goods and people. It usually combines gatehouse control of staff, contractors and vehicles, patrols of buildings and external yards, out-of-hours checks of process and fire alarm panels, and monitored CCTV covering perimeters and storage areas.
The detail

Large sites with mixed risks
Industrial sites combine many security problems in one place: long fence lines, external yards of raw material and scrap, high-value tooling and spares, contractors working on live plant, and buildings that are empty for long periods. Cover has to fit how the site actually runs, whether that is three-shift continuous production, a day-shift operation that closes at night, or a site partly mothballed.
We start with a site survey covering the perimeter, access points, lighting, storage areas, alarm systems and production patterns, then propose a mix of static guarding, patrols and technology.
Out-of-hours checks and shutdown periods
When production stops, the risk changes. Officers carry out building and perimeter patrols, check that doors, shutters and gates are secure, and look for water leaks, unusual smells, alarms on panels and signs of fire, reporting them to your escalation contacts. They support, but do not replace, your fire risk assessment and plant monitoring arrangements.
Planned shutdowns bring large numbers of maintenance contractors. Officers can manage contractor sign-in against approved lists and check that permits are in place before work starts in restricted areas; the permit-to-work system itself stays with your engineering team.
What we need to know to scope the site
Industrial sites typically need:
- Gate procedures for staff, visitors, contractors and HGVs.
- Patrol routes covering buildings, yards, plant rooms and fence lines.
- Escalation contacts for process, fire and intruder alarms.
- Site safety induction and PPE for officers.
- Contractor sign-in and permit checks during shutdowns.
Deployment options
- Gatehouse team: Officers controlling access across production shifts.
- Out-of-hours guarding: Static officers at night and weekends with internal and external patrols.
- Technology-led: CCTV towers or pods with patrols and alarm response for lower-risk or closed sites.
Compliance considerations
Officers hold an SIA Security Guarding licence. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, fire safety duties rest with the site’s responsible person; patrols can support those arrangements. CCTV must follow UK GDPR and ICO guidance.
Security technology
Seccuro provides off-grid CCTV towers, Go Sentinel Pods for warehouses and indoor areas (4K and thermal cameras with a siren and live audio talkdown) and remote monitoring with 24-hour control room support.
Reporting
Officers log patrol checks, faults found, contractor movements and incidents. Alarm activations are followed by an incident report, and a periodic summary highlights recurring faults, perimeter issues and security trends.
Questions
Can officers check our process or fire alarm panels?
Officers can check panels on patrol, record what they see and follow your escalation procedure, such as calling the duty engineer or the fire service. They are not engineers and will not reset or operate process equipment unless your instructions specifically allow a simple, safe action.
How do you help prevent metal theft?
We combine perimeter patrols, CCTV towers or monitored cameras covering cable routes and scrap areas, and alarm response. Reducing stored scrap and marking materials also help. Early detection matters, because the cost of damage and downtime after cable theft is usually much greater than the value of the metal.
Can you provide extra officers for a shutdown?
Yes. Additional officers can manage contractor sign-in, vehicle access and patrols during planned shutdowns, with numbers agreed in advance. Tell us the dates, contractor numbers and areas involved, and we will build security cover into the shutdown plan from the start.
Do officers need site safety training?
Yes. Officers complete your site safety induction before working on site and wear the PPE your rules require. Hazardous areas, permits and restricted zones are recorded in the assignment instructions, so officers know where they may and may not go on patrol.
