London’s security market is driven by occupied commercial buildings, a continuous construction pipeline and a large estate of logistics and trade premises inside and around the M25. Buyers are often facilities managers or managing agents responsible for multi-tenant buildings, where the security team is also the first point of contact for visitors.

The London commercial landscape
The capital has several distinct commercial markets. The City of London and Canary Wharf concentrate financial and professional services in high-occupancy office towers. The West End combines offices, flagship retail and hospitality. Growth areas such as King’s Cross, Stratford, Battersea and Nine Elms mix offices, residential blocks and retail, often under estate-wide management.
Industrial and logistics land is concentrated in west and east London. Park Royal is one of London’s largest industrial estates, and the corridor towards Heathrow is dense with freight forwarding and airside-related warehousing. To the east, the Thames Freeport spans around 38 km along the river, taking in Ford Dagenham, described as the largest manufacturing site in London, together with the Port of Tilbury and DP World London Gateway across the boundary in Thurrock.
Major infrastructure work continues. HS2’s London stations at Euston and Old Oak Common sit alongside a long-running pipeline of commercial towers, residential schemes and refurbishments, many of which involve tight urban sites with limited storage and frequent deliveries.
Local security requirements
London contracts often carry specific conditions:
- Building and estate rules from the managing agent, including uniform, radio protocols and lobby procedures.
- Construction logistics plans that restrict delivery windows and loading areas.
- Vacant buildings awaiting redevelopment, which may need vacant property security with regular inspections.
- Events at licensed venues, where some roles may require SIA Door Supervisor licences. We assess this per event.
For buildings expected to fall within the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, we can help clients think through security procedures, but the duty-holder remains responsible for compliance once the Act is in force.
How we mobilise and manage contracts here
After a site survey, we prepare assignment instructions, assign officers who hold the relevant SIA front-line licence and agree a start date. Officers are recruited or assigned for the contract; we do not claim a standing London team.
Patrol records, incident reports and supervisory checks are reviewed by our operations team, with contract reviews at agreed intervals. Short-notice cover can be requested through emergency security cover and is confirmed per site.

Questions
Do you have a London office?
No. We do not describe a local London branch because we do not have one. Site visits and reporting are agreed in each contract.
Can you provide reception security for a multi-tenant building?
Yes. Reception security officers can manage visitor registration, passes, contractor sign-in, post and deliveries, and lobby access control. We write duties around your visitor management system and building rules, and agree how incidents are escalated to the managing agent.
How do you secure a tight city-centre construction site?
Usually through a mix of gate officers during working hours, overnight guarding or mobile patrols, and camera systems such as wireless scaffold alarms or CCTV towers. The right mix depends on the site’s phase, hoarding line, storage and the principal contractor’s logistics plan.
Does Martyn’s Law apply to my building?
The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 received Royal Assent in April 2025, with an implementation period of at least 24 months. Whether it applies depends on the premises and expected capacity. Check the Home Office guidance and take legal advice; we can support the security procedures.
