Much of central Leeds is office space occupied by financial, legal and professional firms. These buildings need reception and access control that suits tenants, visitors and out-of-hours contractors. To the east, the Aire Valley and the M1 junctions serve distribution and manufacturing, which need different security entirely. South of the river, a large regeneration area is being built out in phases.

This page explains how we scope services for these three very different Leeds environments.
The Leeds commercial landscape
South Bank Leeds is the council-led regeneration of land south of the River Aire. Leeds City Council says it covers the equivalent of 350 football pitches and is expected to deliver 35,000 jobs and 8,000 new homes. At its centre is Aire Park, which the council describes as the largest new city-centre green space in the UK. Office, residential and education buildings are going up plot by plot around it, so occupied buildings, public routes and active construction sit side by side.
East of the centre, the Leeds Enterprise Zone in the Aire Valley covers 142 hectares beside the A63 East Leeds Link Road, close to the M1. It spans the Temple Green, Logic Leeds, Thornes Farm and Newmarket Lane sites, which are mostly manufacturing and logistics. Further out at junction 46 of the M1, Thorpe Park Leeds combines a long-established office campus with The Springs retail and leisure park and further mixed-use phases.
Local security requirements
Points that come up most often in Leeds:
- Multi-tenant buildings. Assignment instructions must say whose rules officers apply in shared areas. They should also cover how tenant access requests are authorised and who receives incident reports.
- Construction next to occupied buildings. On the South Bank, hoardings often border pedestrian routes and occupied offices. Night-time patrols should cover hoarding integrity, gate locks and lighting, not only the compound.
- Out-of-town warehouses. Aire Valley sites often have large perimeters and few people on site at night. Off-grid CCTV towers with remote monitoring, combined with scheduled mobile patrols, are often better value than static night guarding.
- Screening expectations. Financial-sector tenants often ask about staff vetting. BS 7858 is the screening standard many buyers refer to. Ask any provider exactly how their screening is carried out.
How we mobilise and manage contracts here
Seccuro has no Leeds office and no team based in West Yorkshire. Officers are inducted on site before deployment. We start with a survey and written assignment instructions. We then agree supervision visits, reporting format and review dates with you. Patrol and alarm response arrangements across West Yorkshire are set per site, and response times, if any, are written into the contract.
Questions
Can you provide reception security for a multi-tenant office in Leeds city centre?
Yes. Our reception security service covers visitor management, pass issue, contractor sign-in and lobby access control. Assignment instructions are agreed with the landlord or managing agent so officers apply consistent rules for every tenant, with daily occurrence logs and incident reports.
What security does a South Bank construction site typically need?
It depends on the stage. Groundworks usually need compound and plant protection, often with CCTV towers. Later stages add scaffold alarm cameras and stronger gate control during deliveries. Because many plots border public routes, hoarding and lighting checks are part of every patrol.
Do you cover the Aire Valley and Thorpe Park, or only central Leeds?
Both. Seccuro provides services across Leeds and West Yorkshire as part of its UK-wide coverage, including the Aire Valley enterprise zone sites and Thorpe Park.
Are your officers screened to BS 7858?
Seccuro does not claim certification to BS 7858. All officers doing licensable work hold an SIA front-line licence, which includes identity and criminal record checks by the SIA. We can explain our recruitment and screening process during procurement.
