Our Approach to Security

Good security is planned, not improvised.

A security officer in a hi-vis vest stands at crowd barriers outside a building in London.

Prevention first

We can deploy officers at short notice, and many clients first contact us in exactly that situation.

But security gives the most value when it is planned before problems happen. That means understanding how a site is used, where it is exposed and what would cause the most harm to the organisation, then choosing the lightest effective combination of people and technology.

1. Understand the requirement

We start with a conversation about the site, its operation and what you need security to achieve.

Then, where appropriate, we survey the site or review plans: access points, perimeter, lighting, existing alarms and CCTV, hours of use, the people on site and any incident history you can share.

2. Propose a proportionate solution

Our proposal sets out the recommended services and why, the hours and pattern of cover, officer duties, the technology involved, reporting arrangements and the cost.

If a mobile patrol or remote monitoring will do the job, we will say so rather than recommend a full-time officer.

3. Agree assignment instructions

Before mobilisation we agree written assignment instructions: the duties, patrol routes, access procedures, emergency and escalation contacts, and what must be reported and how quickly.

They are the reference point for officers, supervisors and the client.

4. Mobilise and brief

We assign officers with the right SIA licence for the activity, check those licences, and brief them on the site and instructions.

Keys, access arrangements and equipment are handed over in a controlled way.

5. Deliver, supervise and support

Officers carry out the agreed duties, supported by our 24-hour control room.

Supervisors check performance against the instructions, and incidents are escalated through the agreed routes.

6. Report and review

Patrol and incident reports give you evidence of what happened.

Service reviews look at incidents, changes to the site and whether the specification is still right. The specification is changed in writing when your needs change.
